The Birds
The Birds is one of the famous Hollywood movies. It is a horror film made in 1963 by Alfred Hitchcock. The film is known for its wonderful story line, soundtrack and special effect. The film is based on a short story written by Daphne du Maurier. The film was directed and produced by Alfred Hitchock. The screenplay was written by Evan Hunter. Here are the casts of The Birds.

Editing for the movie was done by George Tomasini and the cinematography was done by Robert Burks. In 1963 the movies was nominated in special effects category for Academy Awards. The plot of The Birds revolves around a lady called Melanie Daniels and the birds which attack and follow her in the isolated region of California. The film put up an excellent special effects. For this movie hundreds of birds were trained. The film introduced a professional model named Tippi Hedern'. The film was a shot in Bogeda Bay and many historic locations. In the original story the birds attack Britain. It is said that he was inspired by a report published in one of the newspapers of California stating that birds are displaying strange and violent behaviors. This fact was very well depicted in his film.

The movie doesn't have any natural sounds of birds. The bird sounds were created on the trautonium of Oskar Sala. Throughout the film there is a electronic noise which adds more tension and fear in the movie. After the release of the movie the first question that was put up by the critics was What is reason behind the strange attacks of the the birds. There was no strong and rational reason for this question. The movie scored for its good plot and wonderful special effects and soundtracks. The birds in the film are depicted as a disturbing force. This disturbing force was threatening the community. The background color used in The Birds are white, black and ash color. This helped to create more horror and tension.

The story begins in San Fransico where an young lady Melanie Daniels plan to buy myna for her aunt. In the shop she meets Mitch Brenner who is buying a pair of love birds for his sister. Melanie plays a prank with Mitch Brenner by pretending the shopkeeper. But he recognizes her as a daughter of rich proprietor. Annoyed with this prank he left the shop without buying the birds. Then Melanie buys the birds for him and follows him to his farm located 60 miles away from Bodega Bay. All the horror and adventure begins once she reach the coastal village. The strange attacks by the birds and tensions between characters make the film more interesting. The Birds is an apocalyptic story and is a must to watch movie.
