Titanic

Titanic is a American film released in the year 1997. The film is directed, co-produced and written by James Cameron. The film is about the sinking of a huge and luxury ship called Titanic. The film stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson respectively as the major character. The main actors are shown as belonging to different social strata. They eventually fall in love onboard on the ill-fated 1912 voyage of the ship. The film was both critically and commercially acclaimed. It wins eleven Academy Awards including Best Picture. It became the highest earning film of all time, with a total worldwide income of US$1.8 billion. Brock Lovett is shown as a treasure hunter searching for the debris of the wrecked ship called Titanic. He is searching particularly for a necklace that features an historic blue diamond that is said to has been sanked with the ship.
This necklace is called “The Heart of the Ocean”. He believes that he is on the right track and his crew found a safe in which they saw the picture of a nued woman wearing that blue necklace. The picture was dated the day Titanic sank. When this is shown in television, an old woman of about 100, Rose Dawson Calvert, claims the picture to be her when she was 17. she joined the trasure hunters team on the ship and the major part of Titanic is in the form of recollection of Rose Dawson Calvert. As the story of Rose Dawson Calver proceeds the film gradually unfolds. Her mother, Frances Fisher had good breeding but little money. Hence she decided to marry her daughter Kate to the rich Caledon Nathan Hockley, nicknamed "Cal". Accordingly she was taking Rose to America to marry rich Cal Hockley. This is a match that Rose would rather have avoided.

In her attempt to commit suicide, she was saved by Jack Dawson , a jaunty and charming third-class passenger. Jack and Rose started spending time together and despite the shrewd distiction between their classes they ultimately fall in love. As expected their love received strong disapproval of both her mother and Cal. Cal was ready to go to any extent to prevent Jack from seeing Rose. Ultimately Cal falsely accused Jack of theft. However, the historic events that followed were to change everything.

Cameron's Titanic is recognised as one of his masterpieces. The film costs a huge amount for its making and most of that expending is visible on screen. Everything about the film looks opulent. The effects that go into the sinking of the ship are engrossingly realistic. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio does a good job in playing the young couple, although the romance is occasionally rather overstated. Although the film is a romance set amid a larger disaster story, but it can also be described as the story of Rose's life and her experiences.
