Tere Naam, a Hindi Romantic movie starring Salman Khan and Bhumika Chawla in the in the leading roles, was released on 15th August in the year of 2003. This Hindi feature film has often been claimed to be the remake of a very popular Tamil feature film named Sethu. Tere Naam had Satish Kaushik as its director and Sunil Manchanda and Mukesh Talrejaj as producers. The script was written by Jainendra Jain. Himesh Reshammiya was the music director of this film.
Salman Khan plays the role of Radhey Mohan, an ex-college student of a rowdy attitude. Following his act of ragging Nirjara, played by Bhumika Chawla, he falls in love with her.

As soon as she shows a positive response to Radhey's love, he is attacked by a gang.
He is brutally battered to unconsciousness. When he gains his consciousness, he has lost his memory, failing to recognize his friends and family.
He is taken to the doctor, but to no result. It is when everybody gives up hope, that the doctor advises them to take a chance by sending him to an Ashram where he would undergo some prolonged therapeutic treatment which might cure him. Accordingly he is taken there and admitted to that ashram. Gradually he becomes normal and tries to escape from the ashram in vein.
In the mean time Nirjara getting impatient to see Radhey, goes to the ashram and finds him asleep with brutal wounds in different parts of his body. Radhey wakes up just as Nirjara leaves. He cries her name , but his shouts get lost in the shouts of the other patients. The pathetic condition of her lover led Nirjara to utter distress, and she committed suicide. Radhey, somehow managing to escape, comes back only to come to know that Nirjara is no more. He gets back to the ashram again.
The story of Tere Naam may not be extraordinary, but there are certain aspects of the film that deserve applause. Bhumika Chawla, with all her innocent looks, is the perfect choice to play the role of Nirjara, a girl of a traditional Brahmin family. The transcendence of Radhey's attitudes of a rowdy boy to a sincere lover is well expressed by the sensational acting of Salman Khan. He has done his best in the scenes where he is without his memory.
The music of Tere Naam had gained a huge popularity after its release. Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Shaan, Kamal Khan, K K and Sukhwinder Singh lent their best voices for this film. The lyrics were written by Sameer while the credit of music composition goes to Himesh Reshammiya. 'Tere Naam', the title song and 'Tum se Milna' were the bests of the super hit Bollywood numbers in the contemporary time.
Tere Naam has bagged no award as a film. But Himesh Reshammiya won the Star Screen Award Best Music Director for his deeds in this film. Bhumika Chawla won the Zee Cine Award Best Female Debut for her formidable acting in Tere Naam.
