Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is one of the major hit films in the history of Indian Cinema. It was released on October 16 in the year 1998. It is the highest revenue earning film of that year. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was produced by Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar. The film was directed by Karan Johar. He made his debut as a director with this film.
The story outline of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai :
The plot of the film begins with the introduction of Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol). They were best friends and were studying in St. Xavier's College in Mumbai. Then Tina joins the college after returning from London. She is the daughter of the principal (Anupam Kher) of the college. Rahul gets drawn towards Tina.

In the mean time, Anjali also realizes her true felling for Rahul. A romantic triangle is formed. Eventually Anjali comes to know about Rahul's feelings for Tina. She was heart broken and leaves the college without informing Rahul. In her absence Rahul and Tina gets married. Tina gives birth to a baby girl and dies because of pregnancy complications. The first half comes to an end after Rahul promises Tina to keep her name as “Anjali.”
In the second half, the old friends get to meet each other with the initiative of Anjani Jr, Anupam Kher and Fariada Jalal, who has played Rahul's mother in the film. Soon romance blossoms between the two. However, Anjali in the mean time was engaged with another man, Salman Khan. Rahul comes to know about this and complications ensue. But at last ever problem was solved by Aman (Salman Khan). He steps aside and Rahul and Anjali finally gets married with one another.
Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee has played their roles with utmost sincerity. All the main characters of the film are very comfortable with one other. The chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol deserves special mention in this regard. The romantic scenes between Shah Rukh and Kajol are intense. The on screen couple proved their talent all over again.
The supporting cast of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai included, Sana Seed (child actor), Anupam Kher, Remma Lagoo, Himani Shivpuri, Archana Puran Singh, Johnny Leaver, Neelam (in special appearance). They have also lend their full support to the primary characters. Even though Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee had brief roles to play yet they were able to impress the audience. Everyone has acted with ease and that is reflected in the film.
The film has many poignant scenes which will touch your heart. It shows the talent of the director.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has many hit songs. The title track of the film is very popular. Other hit numbers from the film are “Koi Mil Gaya”, “Yeh Ladka Hai Deewana”. The sad version of the title track and “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee” are very soulful Nd will touch your heart.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a total entertainer which you will surely enjoy watching.
