Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge or DDLJ is one of the major blockbuster hit of Indian film industry. It is the longest running film of Indian Cinema. It is a magical love story. The tag line of the film is “Come...Fall In Love”. The film has redefined the meaning of love. It has created a record by running continuously for 600 weeks in Maratha Mandir, a cinema hall in Mumbai.
DDLJ was released on October 20 in the year 1995. The film was produced by Yash Chopra. His son Aditya Chopra was the director of the film. The story of the film was written by Javed Siddique and Aditya Chopra. The music directors of the film were Jatin Lalit.

Plot of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge :
The main theme of the film is love and also the bonding that exists between different members of a family. Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol) are the primary characters. Raj is the son of a wealthy businessman played by Anupam Kher. Simran is the Amrish Puri's elder daughter. Amrish Puri is a very strict character. At first he was not allowing Simran to go to the Europe tour with her friends. However, he at last gives her permission.
Simran and Raj meets each other in that tour. At the initial stage of their interaction, she wsa not impressed by him. Then some misadventure happens and finally they fall in love. The first half of the film ends when the Europe tour comes to an end and both the lovers dep[art without expressing their love for one another.
It is in the second half that things stated to get difficult for the young lovers. Simran and her whole family returns to India. Raj also follows them and reaches her house. Amrish Puri was dead against their marriage but ultimately he gives his nod.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge has several cute moments which will keep you hooked to the film. Some dialogues such as “Bade bade desho mein chotti chotti baatein hoti rehti hai” have become very popular. DDLJ has few comic scenes as well. The scenes between Anupam Kher and Himani Shivpur will surely make you laugh.
The music of the film is also superb. All the songs specially “Mehendi Laaga Ke Rakna”, “Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jana Sanam”, “Mere Khowabon mein jo aaye” are melodious. The choreography of the songs also deserve special mention.
The characters of Raj and Simran has been immortalized by Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. They are seen as the ultimate romantic couple on screen. They look very comfortable and shares a wonderful chemistry. Both of them acted very well. The whole cast of the film also gave brilliant performances.
No other romantic film of Bollywood has made such an impact after Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayange as a romantic film. The film has own innumerable award in different categories.
